Hats off to the Grads

Congratulations! Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.

You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own.
And you know what you know. You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
—Dr. Seuss, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”

Congrats to the graduates! After all those years of schooling, your finished, and it has all paid off! As you pack up your bags and head out to the next stage of life you will always remember the time you had and the people you’ve met. No more cramming for finals or staying up all night, the years of test taking is behind you and your world is an open book. So lets celebrate! Kick off your shoes and take a break because you’ve made it.

To all the others that have been there since the beginning and have seen how hard they’ve worked, they appreciate you. Your a proud mother, father, or friend, so send them something special to say congratulations! They know you will always be with them and they wouldn’t have gotten to graduation day without you. A little something they can take wherever their next ventures may be is just what they need!

SFW Trunk Shows

There’s a common feeling of generosity and reciprocity that goes hand in hand when shopping local. You can see, touch, and feel the difference when you support the community around you.

When you give to our community, the community gives back out to you.

We definitely felt the love this past week during our 4th annual  Savannah Fashion Week!!

Part of the fun was hosting trunk shows! We were honored to have Liz Moore of ShopBlithe and Christi Reiterman of Kobo Gallery   with us celebrating and sharing their talents!

Liz, a Beaufort native, brought hand block printed cotton pajamas, scarves, and tunics. Not only are they chic poolside, but the Terra Cotta girls would wear them as everyday separates.  We truly fell in love with her hand painted leather bags. Ornate patterns, bright colors, subtle soft leathers and under $50! Need we say more?

Our local news team, WJCL was there to be a part of the event!

Check out their interview with Liz an Christi here: http://www.thecoastalsource.com/2013/04/24/spotlighting-designers-of-savannah-fashion-week/

Christi Reiterman is an Italian trained jewelry designer, SCAD graduate and connoisseur of beautiful objects. She has spent the last decade teaching metalsmithing, competing in the art fair scene, manipulating metals into organic forms and trying not to spend every penny she earns buying the luscious items displayed at Terra Cotta. So when we approached her for an exclusive design…how could she say “no”?

Her  line of jewelry was inspired by her Grandma Sandra’s vintage lace and each piece is reversible.

Voila…handmade happiness endures.

Thanks to Paul Camp for that great photo of Christi’s work! Thanks to Griff and Cheryl from our favorite, Back in the Day Bakery for their indulgent Lavender Shortbread and the incredible baby cupcakes that disappeared mysteriously throughout the day. Sugary perfection. No one does it better.

Cedric and Autumn from  one of our very favorite blogs, You’re Welcome Savannah also stopped in and took some gorgeous photos. Check them out on their blog or facebook page!

If you made it to the trunk shows we want to thank you for making the day so much fun. We can’t tell you how much your support means to us, so let us give you a great big hug next time you are in the store! If you didn’t get the chance to come to the trunk show, don’t worry. The merchandise was too pretty to take away after a day! We still have their products in store as long as they last so come check them out!
